The prestigious MAGIC Las Vegas World Apparel Trade Fair 2024, one of the largest textile exhibitions globally, concluded in Las Vegas, USA. For the first time, “Made in Bangladesh” apparel was showcased at the event, earning a special award for sustainable development.
The three-day event, widely known as the MAGIC Show, brought together global business leaders and entrepreneurs. Bangladeshi apparel manufacturers participated for the first time and secured a prestigious recognition for their commitment to sustainable fashion.
Dr. Cindy J. Lin, Sustainable Verified Products Selector at MAGIC Show, emphasized the importance of ensuring that companies claiming sustainability truly meet UN standards. After thorough evaluation, only factories with verified sustainable production practices were recognized.
Bangladeshi business leaders expressed pride in receiving the award. Shariful Islam, Managing Director of Sahara Exports Inc., called it a major achievement for both the company and the country, expecting it to significantly boost Bangladesh’s apparel exports.
Four sustainable garments from Bangladesh were showcased at the fair for meeting the UN’s sustainability goals.
The MAGIC Show, held every February and August in Las Vegas, is one of the world’s largest trade fairs, attracting exhibitors from 29 countries, including the host nation, the USA. It serves as a key platform for global fashion and apparel business opportunities.
